Fashion designers often find inspiration in the works of interior designers, so I was more than thrilled when DCOTA (Design Center Of The Americas) Invited me to be part of their fashion show and asked me to create two outfits inspired by an interior designer and his fabrics. They paired me with John Roselli & associates showroom and with the works of John Robshaw, who is famous for his woodblock printing techniques, his mix of fabrics and textures and his perfect use of color; Take a look at some of his ads below; I love them for being so quirky, fun and different! and of course, they remind me of India and that I really need to go there soon.
To me this project is a lot of fun and although it is definitely out of my comfort zone because I rarely work with prints, I’m sure it will push me to create something outside of the box. It took me seconds to take inspiration from the fabrics (all hand printed in India) and pictures from John Robshaw’s blog and ads!
The fashion show will be in two weeks on January 30th, but I wanted to give you a little sneak peek of the finished sketches! Take a look and wish me luck, because crazy work weeks are coming up!
I hope you find inspiration in John’s work as well, maybe to try a little woodblock printing, or design out of you comfort zone some amazing print clashing outfits!
♣Wish Me Luck♣

Happy New Year everyone! I hope all of you are as excited as I am for 2013! This new year is full of new projects, new goals and new surprises that I can’t wait to share with all of you! Here are some sneak-peeks for 2013…
1. 5 Girls night outs – Remember my 26 dreams list where I shared some meaningful goals for 2013? One of my ideas was to host five fun girls night outs and with time rushing by I need to start soon! It didn’t take long to have my friends RSVP to my DIY Girls Night Out Party. Next Thursday, the party theme is: DIY BATH SCRUB. Stay tuned for the Girls Night Out Day and for ideas on how to make your own party.
2. Monthly styled photo shoot with Jackie from Three Brooklyn Photography – I guess some of you noticed that the blog pictures suddenly got better! I own that to Jackie Segedin from Three Brooklyn Photography. Jackie is a girl who like me is starting her own business and has amazing creative ideas. She and I decided to come together to bring you a styled photo shoot each month, for inspiration, trends or just for fun! Stay tuned at the beginning of each month.

3. My Handmade Wedding – I am finally getting married to the man of my life in a religious ceremony later this year. This is the most personally inspiring project of my life and I can’t wait to share it with you step by step! I decided to go for a locally hand-made wedding, where most of my vendors are starting their own businesses, friends are helping me out with some DIYs and I am designing and working on The dress! This is such an exciting time for me and by sharing it with you I plan on receiving feedback, inspiration and support ♥

Project is the other show by WWD Magic where up and coming designers from around the world showcase their collections…
The bags by AG were chic enough to carry all the brochures and info, plus my ipad.
The emerging designers showcase! My favorite!

I can’t contain my happiness of being able to visit WWD MAGIC this year! I took many pictures for all of us who dream of being part of this amazing show in the future.
For all of you who don’t know about Magic, it is a fashion trade show dedicated to the Ready-To-Wear, business, trends and Buying aspects of fashion. I believe it holds the same or even more importance than New York Fashion Week.
I loved the succulent displays at Dylan, the clothing was out of this world!
I was very surprised to see the oversized flowers that Design Sponge and Ruche placed on the spotlight, now being displayed all over the show! They really give a new dimension to the clothing!
Window Shopping anyone?
My favorite fashion show was the swimwear fashion show, where delicate swimsuits show what’s to come Spring 2013
The Darling display was one of the best ones! And the oh! so delicate clothing and accessories stole my heart.
I hated the closed booths, however this one turned heads!
As a designer, it is an energizing experience! I am very glad I didn’t miss it and that I will be attending every year!

Although WWDMAGIC, SOURCING, PROJECT and all the shows take most of my time, I can’t deny myself the tourist moments here in Las Vegas…
Las Vegas Blvd at 7am
Gelato from Cocolini at the Venetian Hotel
I Love the bright colors of these machines!
The pink polka elephant in the room at Marc Jacobs
Cesar’s Palace wearing a skirt from my Spring Collection (Etsy) The timeless J.crew denim shirt, and a Gap military jacket
Handpainted Venetian Masks
This trip has been an amazing learning experience for me! Attending WWDMAGIC completely changed my “fashion mind” and I can’t wait to post all the different shows, designers, and information so you feel like you are learning here with me!
In the meantime, on my brakes, I have taken pictures of the “romantic” side of Las Vegas… Enjoy them, and don’t forget to enter the Las Vegas giveaway!
