Turbans Turbans Turbans!

A couple of weeks ago I asked all of my Instagram friends which fabrics, textures or colors they wanted for the fall turban headbands and many replied: red velvet! So I made it happen. At the fabric store I found a rich hue of blue velvet and a fun black velvet with sparks of gold. I hope you like them!

What’s different about my turbans is that I use a lot of fabric for them, so they look full, and never like a simple headband. If you are not sure if a turban headband is for you, simply contact me and I can tell you which color or fabric is better for you. Some blondes look great with black and blue, while brunettes look better with red or royal blues… Christmas tip: these make great girlfriend’s gifts!

You can shop for them at the shop section of my website, or on Etsy: http://www.carolinabenoit.etsy.com

Have a great day! And spread the love please!

Daniella’s Picks

Daniella, our fabulous merchandiser, and a self-described “beauty-freak” picks her favorite items from Carolina Benoit’s store…  We’re all fighting over her picks!

Dani’s first outfit inspired by a Sunday stroll was to die for! All the team was crazy about her dress, which she bought at a vintage shop in Ibiza. This cute vintage dress was the perfect match for our Lola Bow belt! (and main inspiration for our Spring 2013 collection) And what about her prim and neat nude Miu miu pumps? All we’re saying is we wish for more Sundays when we can dress like this!

While changing and putting on makeup, Daniella pulled out our turban headband! She looked so natural with it! We had to make it part of the photo-shoot! We are thinking of re-making the turbans for the holidays! What do you think? Should we?

Her second outfit is perfect for Miami: electric blue top, white denim pants, and killer YSL’s, so simple and easily put together but still very sartorial! We specially loved the details at the neck of this blouse! Studs for the holidays are a must! (you can shop for the shirt HERE)

The silk chiffon slit dress was her choice to go to dinner, and you can’t really see it here, but she paired the dress which has a slit at the front, with a delicate french lace bra. We loved how she found the balance between sensual and classic without trying too hard; Isn’t that what we are all looking for? (Shop for the dress HERE)

The Lost Garden

The long days of summer are leaving us soon…  it’s time to store all of our fresh summer clothes and start preparing the boots and coats…

Don’t you long for a lost garden, where summer afternoons and sea breeze are eternal?

WWD Magic Las Vegas 2012

I can’t contain my happiness of being able to visit WWD MAGIC this year! I took many pictures for all of us who dream of being part of this amazing show in the future.

For all of you who don’t know about Magic, it is a fashion trade show dedicated to the Ready-To-Wear, business, trends and Buying aspects of fashion.  I believe it holds the same or even more importance than New York Fashion Week.

I loved the succulent displays at Dylan, the clothing was out of this world!

I was very surprised to see the oversized flowers that Design Sponge and Ruche placed on the spotlight, now being displayed all over the show! They really give a new dimension to the clothing!

Window Shopping anyone?

My favorite fashion show was the swimwear fashion show, where delicate swimsuits show what’s to come Spring 2013

The Darling display was one of the best ones! And the oh! so delicate clothing and accessories stole my heart.

I hated the closed booths, however this one turned heads!

As a designer, it is an energizing experience! I am very glad I didn’t miss it and that I will be attending every year!

My First Feature On A Glossy Magazine

A month ago I was reached by Mollie Makes Magazine from the UK because they wanted to feature the geometric Merengue Shift Dress from my Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I had been feature in magazines and newspapers as a designer, but this is the first time that my work reaches the pages of a glossy magazine! I am beyond happy!

The magazine is not for sale until August 3 in the UK, but I was given a sneak-peek from the editors so you can take a look at it.

Mollie Makes curates the best craft around the world into a tactile, collectible and irresistible magazine (In other words, if you love to make things, and websites of handmade items such as Etsy or Copious, then you’ll love this magazine)

In their own words:

“We love to make – handmade is more than just a hobby for us, it’s in everything we do. We can’t resist hunting down treasures in thrift stores, then customizing, re-covering and embellishing our finds with our endless stash of ribbons, buttons, fabrics and felt. We’re forever on the lookout for new inspiration. Whatever we do, we’re living and loving handmade.”

♡ Making ♡ Thrifting ♡ Collecting ♡ Crafting
