26 Dreams

One of my Facebook friends posted her “dream list” and it inspired me to sit down and think about meaningful goals that I want to accomplish soon. This year went by really fast! It seems like only yesterday I was celebrating my 25th birthday (don’t worry this is not a crisis) all I’m saying is, writing down hopes, dreams and goals can really help you focus and materialize them! Do you have any meaningful or special goals you want to accomplish? Share them below and for inspiration here you have mine…

Las Vegas And Her Sweet Side

Although WWDMAGIC, SOURCING, PROJECT and all the shows take most of my time, I can’t deny myself the tourist moments here in Las Vegas…

I Love the bright colors of these machines!

This trip has been an amazing learning experience for me! Attending WWDMAGIC  completely changed my “fashion mind” and I can’t wait to post all the different shows, designers, and information so you feel like you are learning here with me!

In the meantime, on my brakes, I have taken pictures of the “romantic” side of Las Vegas… Enjoy them, and don’t forget to enter the Las Vegas giveaway!

My First Feature On A Glossy Magazine

A month ago I was reached by Mollie Makes Magazine from the UK because they wanted to feature the geometric Merengue Shift Dress from my Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I had been feature in magazines and newspapers as a designer, but this is the first time that my work reaches the pages of a glossy magazine! I am beyond happy!

The magazine is not for sale until August 3 in the UK, but I was given a sneak-peek from the editors so you can take a look at it.

Mollie Makes curates the best craft around the world into a tactile, collectible and irresistible magazine (In other words, if you love to make things, and websites of handmade items such as Etsy or Copious, then you’ll love this magazine)

In their own words:

“We love to make – handmade is more than just a hobby for us, it’s in everything we do. We can’t resist hunting down treasures in thrift stores, then customizing, re-covering and embellishing our finds with our endless stash of ribbons, buttons, fabrics and felt. We’re forever on the lookout for new inspiration. Whatever we do, we’re living and loving handmade.”

♡ Making ♡ Thrifting ♡ Collecting ♡ Crafting

Walking Among The Flowers

Beyond Miami’s gorgeous beaches and all the night life there are many places to find peace and culture. One of the most beautiful places in Miami is the Fairchild Botanical Garden… The photographs don’t do justice to this place.

Madagascar… Cactus.

The first time I saw a Baobab was at Fairchild, and it really touched my heart… Baobabs have a strong meaning in my life and looking at one and being amazed by its beauty and size is really something.

The Zen Lotus gardens are also breathtaking, and full of peace.

Nature’s Hearts

I took this opportunity to browse for inspiration for the coming collections… This dead leaf is perfect for color charts, and the leaves below are perfect to create silhouettes and textures

There is a small river that crosses the gardens. Cold clear water cools the hot Miami day.

Nature’s Colors.

This leaf was almost my size!

I wore: Banana Republic Skirt (This skirt is almost Vintage, I think is 5 years old or more), a J.crew Sweater, Tory Burch Belt, Street Spardilles, Dior Sunglasses, Kate Spade Bag.

To visit Fairchild: www.fairchildgarden.org ***Recomendations***Don’t go on a hot summer day, drink plenty of water, wear comfortable clothes and a camera is a must!

Sneak-Peek Spring 2012

TOMORROW…

The collection will be yours! Stay tuned!

MMIF Week

This is me with our awesome intern who is a fashion design student. She is wearing my pleated silver mini skirt to show support! Isn’t she amazing?

The runway surrounded by many different chairs, no models yet…

I was lucky to be wearing  a white dress and my neon messenger! The “blue room” helped me shine!

Messenger Bag Kate Spade, Shoes Cole Haan, Dress Sample, Sunglasses Ray Ban, Belt J.Crew

The Carolina Benoit design team, and WEAR&HOUSE were invited as VIP guests to Brickell Fashion week, which was actually held at the Design District (Don’t ask).  Brickell fashion week is a new show which supports local fashion designers and design students, the event is very hip, young and has a NYC vibe.

Unfortunately I can’t attend the two runway shows this weekend, but this blog: www.thatscoolblog.com will be bringing the runway to you! Discover local new designers, photographers, and the Miami fashion scene.

Have a great Memorial day weekend and stay tuned next week for an exiting post!
